Well, the book Tribes certainly touched a chord in certain social media circles, what with its emphasis on shared community. And while one may not necessarily agree with all of Godin’s opinions (he has a boatload), as you imply, the book can help you understand some of the reasons behind how and why social media marketing works.

re: Jarie’s suggesstion, “Inbound Marketing: How to get found on Google . . . ” is also on my nightstand.

In addition, I have also read Tamar’s book and reviewed it last week on my blog SHARISAX IS OUT THERE. It was definitely “too detailed” for a beginner, but someone relatively new like myself, the book offered a huge variety of tips on a number of platforms, tools, and strategies.

Looking forward to Six Pixels.
